Tonight Dr. Douglass showed this video as an intro to class. This is a video featuring a father who has done 224 triathlons for his son and with his son! His son has cerebal palsy and his father did this to encourage his son that he can do anything even though he is disabled. They have done six iron mans together!! An iron man involves the father swimming and pulling his son, now 46, in a boat 2.4 miles then biking with his son on the front for 112 miles. Then the father pushes his son as he runs the final 26.2 miles.
Dr. Douglass was trying to show us an illustration of Union with Christ. He was teaching us that we do nothing and Christ does everything for us (which sounds obvious, but it is hard to fully comprehend)! I have to admit Walter and I had a few tears after watching this. God's love is so amazing and indescribable. When you are watching this be reminded that this father's love is nothing in comparison to Christ's love for us! We are like this son...we are helpless and we can do nothing without Christ. Christ paid it all for us.

Read their story! It is incredible and inspiring!
"Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me."
