I was talking to my neighbor and friend Caylee tonight and she was telling me about her internship at International Crisis Aid here in St. Louis. Their big focus right now is starting a home here in St. Louis for women and children---to get them out of the sex trafficking. This is a problem all over the country and all over the world. Research released by the University of Pennsylvania showed just how overwhelming the problem is. It estimated conservatively that 300,000 children are at risk of being commercially exploited for sex in the United States ALONE this year. The 2009 Trafficking in Persons Report has estimated that over 12.3 million children and adults are forced into slave labor or sexual servitude at any given time.

What a powerful, informative video. Thanks for posting this on your blog, Laura. It makes me weep over the brokenness of this world and long for Jesus to make things right.
